Tri-County Quts

The Tri-County Quts event on 8 and 9 August, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each day, is a community service initiative designed to help children and teenagers start the school year, special events, or everyday life with confidence. Sponsored by “The Tri-County Ques” of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Eta Xi Nu Chapter, this free haircut event provides a practical service that directly supports families while creating a positive, encouraging experience for young people. A fresh haircut may seem simple, but for many children and teens, it can help build self-esteem, improve confidence, and reinforce a sense of dignity and pride.
Events like Tri-County Cuts benefit the community by reducing financial pressure on parents and guardians while connecting families to organizations that care about their well-being. For households managing school supplies, clothing, transportation, food, and other expenses, a free haircut can remove one more burden at the right time. More importantly, the event creates a safe and welcoming environment where young people are seen, supported, and served by community members who want them to succeed.
This initiative reflects the broader mission of the Tri-County Friendship Foundation and its partners: improving quality of life across Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe Counties through service, charitable support, and character-building activities that promote unity and friendship. By partnering with local institutions like Deluxe Barber College, the event turns professional skills into community impact. Every haircut represents more than grooming; it is an investment in confidence, family support, and the continued effort to build a stronger, more connected tri-county community.
